Job Summary: 
The Vehicle Integration & Development Manager will lead a team of engineers and oversee the integration, development, and prototype builds of vehicles. The role will be responsible for managing the entire vehicle integration and development process, ensuring that systems and components are seamlessly integrated, and prototypes are built to meet performance, quality, and regulatory standards. The role will provide technical leadership, coordinate cross-functional teams, drive innovation, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality vehicles. This position is located in Allen Park, MI.


As a Vehicle Integration & Development Manager, you will:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of integration and development engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Oversee the integration of various vehicle systems and components, ensuring compatibility, functionality, and compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute vehicle integration, development, and prototype build projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations for team members.
  • Support the business acquisition and quotation process.
  • Provide technical expertise, guidance, mentoring and performance feedback to the team, assisting with technical problem-solving, design optimization, and resolution of complex integration issues.
  • Collaborate closely with other engineering teams, product managers, and stakeholders to understand project requirements, align priorities, and facilitate effective communication.
  • Foster a culture of cross-functional collaboration, ensuring effective communication channels and knowledge sharing within the organization.
  • Drive innovation and improvement initiatives to enhance processes, increase efficiency, and foster product innovation.
  • (Provide regular project updates to senior management and stakeholders, addressing technical challenges, resource requirements, and project milestones.
Minimum qualifications to be considered:
  • Bachelor's in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience in vehicle integration, development, prototype builds, with a strong background in automotive engineering.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a proven track record of leading and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, components, and their interactions.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards, safety requirements, and industry best practices related to vehicle engineering.
  • Proven ability to take a customer’s high-level vision and translate into specific vehicle specifications and targets that the engineering team design to.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet project deadlines.
  • Proven ability to present complex data to a diverse audience including senior leadership.
A successful candidate may also have:
  • Master’s degree in technical or business field.
  • Experience interacting with executive leadership both internally and externally, including presenting complex data, issues, and program progress.
  • Understanding of business and program financials as it relates to overall department financial performance and targets.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, Team Center/VIS) and chassis simulation tools (e.g., Adams, Optimum K).
