Job Summary:
The Sales Engineer will seek out and build new business opportunities for the organization, as well as act as a technical resource for the territory. In this role, the Sales Engineer will assist company growth and profitability through assisting in new customer acquisition, as well as by increasing current customer spend. This role requires personal drive, tireless persistence, and business strategy expertise. The Sales Engineer will be a key member of our team, responsible for strategically developing and qualifying revenue opportunities. In this position, you will be working closely with sales and marketing to develop targeted strategies and messaging to drive opportunities for new business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain strong professional, technical relationships with customers
  • Identify new customer projects (opportunities) and remaining engaged until successful completion
  • Maintain and update activity in Salesforce CRM to ensure effective lead management
  • Maintain primary communication with customers and internal personnel throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Clearly communicate and collaborate with all functional groups within the organization
  • Maintain and update activity in Salesforce CRM to ensure effective lead management
  • Provide technically sound recommendations, while also considering the company’s commercial needs and interests
  • Promote and demonstrate the company as a solutions provider
  • Other duties may be assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in business or technical-related
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a customer-facing technical role
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office
  • Strong Technical knowledge and capabilities; ability to apply skills and analysis of customer applications and products
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate in both verbal and writing setting
  • Well organized, independent worker who can self-motivate
  • Willing and able to travel up to 50%

Preferences:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in engineering
  • Automotive engineering experience
  • Promote and demonstrate the company as a solutions provider
  • Engineering services sales experience
  • Salesforce or other CRM experience
  • Ability to handle and overcome objections
  • Motivation, perseverance, and determination qualities
  • Aptitude for research and analysis
  • Proficient in time management and personal organization
